Low Cost & Sliding Scale Private Dog Training in SE PDX & Gresham, Oregon

AFFORDABLE PRIVATE DOG TRAINING IN SE PDX & GRESHAM

Do you need help with your dog’s reactivity, separation anxiety, house training your adult dog or something else, but our standard private dog training rates feel out of reach? No worries. We know that life is expensive and the costs associated with caring for a dog can add up quickly and unexpectedly. Our affordable private dog training options are available to anyone who needs them. There are no hoops you have to jump through to access the program.

DETAILS

  • Cost. Sliding scale lessons are priced at a minimum of $45. Our typical 1-hour lesson is billed at $135/lesson, so the sliding scale option starts at 1/3 of our typical price point. If you feel that you can contribute additional funds, there is an option to “pay more” during the check out process.

  • Duration. The lessons are 45-minutes long. In addition, I review your dog’s intake form beforehand and spend roughly 15 min. afterwards sending follow up materials.

  • What’s included? Review of your intake form, the lesson itself, homework, and the ability to email questions pertaining to the homework.

  • Cancellation policy. Our cancellation policy is a full 24 hours. If you reschedule with at least 24 hours notice, there is no penalty. If you no-show or cancel last minute, your lesson is not eligible for rescheduling. If you cancel and request a refund, all refunds are less the processing fees. Processing fees are typically 3% of the transaction + $.30.

  • Eligibility. If you feel that you need the service then you are eligible.

  • Availability. Lessons are available on Friday afternoons at 4 pm and 5 pm.

  • Where does private training take place? Lessons take place virtually over Google Meet or at our facility which is on the border of SE Portland and Gresham, Oregon. We are just a 10-15 minutes drive from Troutdale, Happy Valley, Damascus and Fairview, Oregon. We are about a 25-30 minute drive from inner SE Portland.

WANT TO START TRAINING YOUR DOG?

You’re going to need a good treat pouch. This treat pouch from Wilderdog is a great option. You can also find decent treat pouches at outlet stores like Ross, Sierra Trading Co, Homegoods & more.

WHAT WE CAN HELP WITH

  • Reactivity. Dog directed reactivity, inner-household dog aggression, stranger danger, big feelings about cars, cyclists, skateboarders, and more. If your dog is barking and lunging at triggers on their walks, while in the car, or even just hanging out in your house, then private training can be a great option. Our Reactivity 101 group class is also helpful.

  • Separation Anxiety. Is your dog uncomfortable with being home alone? Do they refuse to touch the chews or frozen snacks you leave out during the day? Virtual private training is the absolute best option when it comes to helping your dog feel better spending time alone.

  • Confidence Building. Is your dog scared of the world? We can help you learn how to better support your pup and increase their comfortability in new situations.

  • Excitability. Is your dog just too worked up for a group class to be a good option? We can help your pup learn how to relax and focus in a one-on-one setting.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Treats. For any training that isn’t separation anxiety specific, you’ll need to have a few types of small, chewy, medium and high value training treats ready to go.

  • Treat Pouch. Please be sure to pick up a training pouch ahead of tme.

  • Leash & Harness. If your dog does not use a harness, then a flat collar will do. Leashes should be fixed length.

  • A bed, towel, or blanket from home. This will help your dog feel a bit more comfortable settling in our space.
