Setting You and Your Puppy Up For Success
-
Small group sizes
Classes will never have more than 5 dogs/families in them to ensure everyone gets some one-on-one time and feedback from the instructor. Stations include water, barriers, shelves, and coat hooks.
-
Supportive
We know how hard it is to learn a new skill; your dog isn’t the only one learning. At Dog Flower, we prioritize positive feedback for the humans taking our classes, and thrive with your feedback, too.
-
Hand outs
All of our classes include hand outs which cover exactly what we worked on each week, homework, and videos of the exercises. If you miss a week, it’s no problem. Your hand out will catch you up.
-
Pragmatic
Our number one goal is to help YOU reach your goals with your dog. We aim to include exercises and problem solving in our classes that can be implemented by you as soon as you leave class each week.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
We work with families who have puppies as young as 8 weeks old as long as they’re up to date on vaccinations.
-
Each series runs for 6 weeks. Each individual class is typically 50-minutes long.
-
If your puppy is younger than 14 weeks of age, your puppy is in their sensitive socialization period (critical socialization period).
Your puppy’s socialization period is finite. During this window, they are the most open to new experiences that they will ever be. The experiences they have (or don’t have) will leave a lasting impact on them. It’s crucial to provide them with a variety of intentional, positive experiences during this window so your puppy can be as set up for success as they can be for the life they will share with you. We encourage you to read the AVSAB’s Position Statement on Puppy Socialization.
A well-run puppy class is a weekly opportunity to expose your puppy to new people, dogs, and environments in a thoughtful manner. Additionally, your instructor Meaghan is an experienced, multi-certified trainer who will help you understand what is normal and abnormal, how to best support your puppy, how to help your puppy learn to coexist in your household, and how to set everyone up for success in your life together.
-
We encourage the entire family to participate. If you have very young children, please have a second adult present for the duration of the class to ensure safety and focused learning for both the dog and family members.
-
Yes! Each week you'll get a written handout covering everything we went over in class.
-
Classes are non-refundable and we do not offer make-up classes.
You will always receive a detailed follow-up handout, which includes written and video instructions for the exercises, to help you stay on track with skills from the week.
